John and us go back a long way - lots of water under that bridge. It has been a privilege and a pleasure.

John's talent is in his ability to improvise the blues on the harmonica, a skill which he has brought to live shows, church performances and to workshops. He sessioned for Chris Wickland's band Metamorphic for a time, while they went through a phase of the blues.

John approached me a while back to create some backing tracks to accompany an instruction manual he has written, and which he could use to pass on his skills to others. The brief was simply to keep it slow, so beginners could take part and play along, once they had mastered the basics.

The track you can hear by clicking below, is a worked up blues track with space for solo harmonica. It's a little odd to be publishing a track for an artist who does NOT actually appear on their record at all... All parts by yours truly. Enjoy!
